GENERAL INFO

Q: What hours are you open?

A: 9am to 6pm. If you have an after hours flight we may accommodate your reservation for an additional fee between 6pm-8pm, any arrival between 8pm-12am, we suggest you book a hotel room in the Kahului area and plan to pick up your camper the next morning.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: 75% refund up to 7 days before pickup, then 50% refund for remaining days. No refund within 48 hours our your trip, but we do offer credits which are transferable to friends and family!

AFTER YOUR RENTAL PERIOD STARTS, WE DO NOT REFUND IF YOU VOLUNTARILY DECIDE TO TURN YOUR RENTAL IN EARLY FOR ANY REASON.

NO REFUNDS IF YOU FAIL TO BOOK CAMPGROUND PERMITS AND SHOW UP WITHOUT A PLAN.

Q: Where can I camp? 
A: You must reserve camping permits/reservations in advance for every night you are camping on Maui. Local law prohibits camping on public beaches/public areas. You can reference our Camping Guide, which offers basic information on Maui camping spots. Upon booking, a more comprehensive guide is available as well.

Q: Where is your location?
A: 591 Haleakala Hwy, Kahului, HI.We are located directly outside of the Maui Airport (OGG) across the street from Costco Gas Station. Since google maps may be wrong, we share a location with the Plate Lunch Marketplace.

Q: Are there mileage charges/limits for my rental?
A: No, Maui is an island.

Q: Are there any restrictions on where I can drive?
A: You must only drive on designated highways and roads, including trails to official camping spots. NO DRIVING ON 4×4 TRAILS OR TO PEAHI  (JAWS SURF SPOT) and other areas. There are some rough and narrow roads past Hana on the ‘backside’ near Kipahulu. We suggest you plan ahead to only traverse this section of road once, or preferably not at all with the camper van, as you are responsible for the return condition of your camper at the end of your stay.

Q: Do you have additional camping equipment?
A: Yes. Our standard camping gear can be found here. If you have any requests, feel free to ask!

Q: How much luggage can I bring?
A: Our camper van and Jeep campers typically have enough room for one carry-on sized bag for each person, any additional or larger items tend to clutter the free space in the van and gear space in the Jeeps. We find that travelers who arrive with a couple backpacks and/or hiking packs typically have the most room to spare. For parties three (3) or larger, please consider sharing bags, and remember to try to ‘pack light’ for your Maui camping adventure. Please see luggage storage below.

BOOKING

Q: How old do I have to be to rent a camper?
A: Minimum driver age that we can insure is 25. If you have your own auto policy that covers rentals in the USA with collision AND liability we are able to make exceptions.

Q: Driver License requirements?
A: U.S./Canada residents require a valid driver license. International drivers require a valid driver license and passport. If your license is not written in the latin alphabet or english, you are required to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP).

Q: Is there a minimum rental period?
A: Yes. The minimum rental period for our camper vehicles is three (3) nights. We are willing to make exceptions, within 2 weeks of travel, but only if our schedule allows. Feel free to ask!

Q: Do you require a security deposit?
A: Yes. A credit card authorization, or ‘charge hold’ is completed four (4) days before arrival. The amount will equal no less than your insurance deductible, as well as if you purchase insurance through us.

Q: Do you require a rental deposit?
A: Yes. We require a rental deposit, which goes towards your rental upon booking to reserve your camper. The amount is $150. It’s just like relationships: we think everyone should be equally committed : )

Q: When do I pay?
A: The booking deposit due upon reservation. The balance of your rental is due seven (7) days before arrival. The security deposit due four (4) days before arrival.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

Q: Will someone meet me at the airport?
A: We are the only camper rental company with a location (along with 15 food trucks!) right outside of the Kahului (OGG) Airport. Due to airport regulation we are not permitted to offer pickup/dropoff service. Its a quick 2 minute ride to us via taxi/Uber/Lyft if needed.

Q: Will someone show me how to operate my camper?
A: Yes! We want to make sure that you are comfortable with and know how to operate everything that is included with your camper vehicle, including gear and even driving tips! Please plan for a 20 minute vehicle orientation.

Q: Can you store my luggage for me?
A: Please remember to ‘pack light.‘ We offer a small amount of secure storage space for excess luggage. If you also have a hotel stay booked during your trip, your hotel will usually accept your excess bags. Also, the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center, or ‘Queen K Mall’ offers free luggage storage.

Q: What can I expect at the end of my trip?
A: You will meet us at our location at your specified return time, with a full fuel tank to complete your post-rental vehicle inspection (5-10 min) and we drop you off at the airport for your departure. For after-hours departures, we will coordinate with you personally with specific instructions.
